L’âme

for violin

Uraufführung:
The French Expression „âme“ not only signifies „soul“. It is also the term for „sound post“, the inconspicuous wooden dowel placed between the top plate and the down plate of string instruments, which exerts considerable influence on the instrument’s sound. In my violin piece „L’âme“ the instrument is put into vibration in different manners. Outrageous sounds arise from the stimulated inner space of the violin.
